Description: The objectives of French I are to have students develop skills in speaking, reading, and writing the language. The class will be taught in the target language.

Recommended Grade Level: 10-12 Duration: 2 semesters
Prerequisite: Successful completion of French I and proficiency test for freshmen
Description: French II is the follow-up course of French I. Its major purpose is to reinforce the development of skills in speaking, reading, and writing the language. The class will be taught in the target language. Stress is on grammar and comprehension.

Prerequisite: French II
Description: Continued emphasis will be placed on hearing and speaking the language, but reading and writing will play an increasingly important part in learning the new language. The class will be conducted in the foreign language.

Prerequisite: French III
Description: Continued emphasis will be placed on hearing and speaking the language, but reading and writing will play an increasingly important part in practicing the language. The class will be conducted in the foreign language. If combined with another level, this will be an independent study course.

Description: Spanish I is an introductory course in the Spanish language and culture. Students will learn to read, write, and speak useful expressions and everyday conversations. The geography, history, and culture of Hispanic people will be studied to achieve a greater understanding of the language.

Description: Spanish II provides a review of the material learned in Spanish I and introduces more grammar. Students continue to improve their reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills through a combined study of the language and culture.

Description: Spanish III continues to develop the student's ability to speak, understand, read, and write the language through the study of more complex grammatical constructions and the literature of the language.
