First-time tenth graders in 2001-2002 and thereafter will be required to score Approaching Basic or above on the English Language Arts and Mathematics tests AND Science OR Social Studies portions to be eligible for a standard high school diploma.>
Each year in March or April, the exit exam is administered to the tenth and eleventh grade students. For any student who does not pass one or more designated parts of the test, remediation is provided during the school year; and the student will be given an opportunity to retake the test.
